Entry 1510 — A Working Blog Again

Thursday, July 17th, 2014

As you can see, I can post graphics here again.  I have no idea why: I tried to do what I’ve always done yesterday, and got the Pollock below posted.  Then I posted a proper version of LeRoy Gorman’s wonderful poem.

My own self isn’t doing better, though.   So that’s it for this installment.

Entry 1262 — Jackson Pollock’s “Number 1″

Thursday, November 7th, 2013

My mind is so empty I can’t think of even a bad poem to put Poem into, so here is Pollock’s 1948 painting, “Number 1,” because I happened on it at a website devote to ekphrastic poetry. If I had anything in my brain at all, I could put Poem into it. (Note: the colors seem wrong–I remember it as all black on white.  I suppose the blues I see are a computer screen artifact.  They give it an interesting wintriness.)

(Note: Once again, I forgot to make this entry public on the day I was supposed to, so it’s two days late.  Fortunately, the entry is too trivial for that to matter.)
